Yorkshire Coast College (YCC) is delighted to announce that it is re-launching its Football Development Centre, that has previously seen four of its former students progressing to play football for Scarborough Town.

Successful applicants will get the chance to train for up to 10 hours every week with the added bonus of gaining a qualification in Further Education while pursuing that long-heldrndream of a career in professional Football.

The trials themselves are being held on Wednesday 14th July at 10am on the Sports Pitch at YCC’s Main Campus on Lady Edith’s Drive. Anyone aged 16 to 19 is invited to attend, and show off their talents to coaches, who will be forming a full squad with the lucky candidates, to then play in the BCS-North East League.

Director of the Football Development Centre, Mitch Cook, is looking forward to seeing what the future is going to hold for the potential sporting stars, Mitch said:

“I’m extremely proud to be involved with what is certain to be a very exciting course at Yorkshire Coast.

“To be able to watch the up-and-coming stars of football learn from tutors who all have many years of experience is a great thing.

“The inclusion of the Development Centre into the increasing range of YCCs programmes, and the chance for these young footballers to continue their academic studies while pursuing a career in the sport, is certain to prove a popular choice throughout Scarborough and Yorkshire.”
