What is a Traineeship?

If you are 16-24 years old and need extra help to gain an Apprenticeship or job then a Traineeship is the right route for you. A Traineeship will give you the opportunity to develop the skills and workplace experience that employers need.

What does a Traineeship involve?

Our Traineeships include a considerable amount of time in work placement and activity-based training, alongside support to improve your English and Maths. A range of other support and flexible training may be offered to help you develop your skills and progress quickly on to an Apprenticeship or secure a job.

Is funding available?

You will receive funding to assist the completion of your course (subject to eligibility).

Is a Traineeship the right option for you?

  • Are you unemployed (or work less than 16 hours per week) and have little work experience?
  • Are you motivated to work?
  • Are you aged 16-19 and are qualified below Level 3 (Level 3 is equivalent to two A Levels at grades A-C) OR are aged 19-under 24 at the time of enrolment, and are qualified below Level 2 (Level 2 is the equivalent to 5 GCSEs at gr ades A* to C)?
  • Think you will be ready for employment or to progress on to an Apprenticeship within six months of starting a Traineeship?
